MacroCLEAN (Genomic DNA Clean Up)

Description:

Part of the ‘Free From’ Microzone range, macroCLEAN provides rapid purification and concentration of high molecular weight DNA (such as genomic, mitochondrial, plasmid, viral or phage DNA) that is suitable for the most sensitive downstream applications. The process does not involve the use of solvents or other harmful chemicals, nor spin columns or magnetic beads which are usually required in traditional DNA purification methods. macroCLEAN’s streamlined protocol requires only a single centrifuge tube and can take less than 15 minutes. Additionally, the manipulation of the elution volume in the last step of macroCLEAN protocol allows for the concentration of DNA to suit the users needs.

The presence of contaminants (such as enzymes, primer dimers, salts, dyes and other inhibitors) often interferes with downstream applications. macroCLEAN allows the rapid removal of contaminants generating DNA suitable for sequencing, PCR, cloning, endonuclease digestion and other enzymatic techniques. It also favorably purifies DNA, removing most RNA from the sample, which can further impede downstream processes.
