The Vector Dx™ Sentinel™ is the first autonomous testing unit for mosquito-born viruses. This solar-powered robot traps and tests mosquitoes for Malaria as well as various Flaviviruses, including West Nile virus, several Encephalitis viruses (Japanese and St. Louis), Dengue viruses 1-4, Zika virus, Spondweni virus, Yellow Fever virus, Tick-born Encephalitis virus, Powassan virus, and others.
The Vector Dx™ Sentinel™ is engineered with a self-contained lab that automatically tests mosquitoes for selected viruses, which means that mosquito control and public health measures no longer require a separate lab. It also means that detection of dangerous viruses is instantaneous, rather than discovered 1 to 2 weeks after the virus infects local mosquito populations.
